Cool! My Laugh Box Got Powered Up

Well, I have to say that today has been the best day so far this week. And I sure needed it!

Finally, my head is feeling much better – although not 100% yet, I’ll take what I can get. I think that bending over the table painting and sculpting countless little creatures for hours might have something to do with it. I’m working on how to be more skillful with that simple word moderation! But I LIKE making them, so it’s hard to know when to quit.

Brutus is doing okay. I’m still a little worried about one of his sores. We are working on keeping it from getting infected, but he’s a dog after-all and dirty. Other than that he is fine. Happy and running around just like before. Poor Darren is still a bit shook up over it though.

We had a nice visit from two of my Aunts and Uncles yesterday. They were driving through the area. It had been a very long time since we’d seen each other – so it was nice to spend some time catching up.

I have finally gotten some pictures of our WWII collage together. We now have it hanging in the mud room and plan on doing some more of them this year, on different topics, to hang in there as well.

(Guy’s eyes were shut in all 6 pictures I took!)

The little Bible on there is actually just a blank journal book that we glued a cross to. Some of the pictures were off the web, some from an old book we got at a second-hand store, and some of them are stickers. We made the jewish start out of real yellow material and then stained it up to look authentic. The key represents a story we read about a little girl who was taken – and lost her whole family. There are some authentic WWII era stamps we found on there too.

It was a fun art project!

Today we had a good day of school. A lot of my merrier mood, I’m sure, had to do with the fact that I could actually think better with less pressure on/in my head. But it was also because my boys were being so funny! They were making me laugh so much. At one point JJ said, “Wow… mom’s laugh box must be at full power!” And of course that just made me laugh even more! They were all being funny… and I’m glad, cuz I needed those endorphins…  BAD! Oh, and we did actually get some work done too – so that was a bonus!

I also got a video of JJ and Harrison playing the piano together!!! Can you believe that? They were working as a team, sitting side by side, playing the same song – t o g e t h e r!  And I have the PROOF. (for future “reference” of course.)

Well, as much as I’d like to keep chatting… dinner duty calls. You know a hungry boy can be a dangerous thing! And THREE of them is downright frightening!!

Hope to share what I am breaking my neck over with you soon.

hi-d

🙂

  1. I’m glad your head is feeling better…so strange, because on Monday I got a migraine (with the flashes) and haven’t had them in a year or two. I’m sorry yours lasted so long!!!

That collage is really cool…sounds like you had a fun day! 🙂

I’m glad you are better and I pray that your son gets a good report. I’m sure it is stressful to wait and wonder.

And what a great collage! Really neat — good job. 🙂
